This newborn session holds a special place in my heart and I was over the moon to gift this session to my wonderful cousins. This was their 1st child and I wanted this experience to be exceptional (as I do with all of my clients). Since I am a one-woman show, any and all communication is handled by me. I will be the one that answers the phone if you have a question about your session. That email that you receive letting you know that your soft proof gallery is ready, I sent that. I want my clients to know that your experience from start to finish, will be 100% by my hands. My promise to each and every client is for you to have a product and service that I would want and expect from another photographer for my own images. I want to be everyone’s Atlanta newborn photographer.

Drew and Elizabeth arrived at the studio with Corley looking beautiful and dapper. In my Parent Prep guide, I advise my parents to wear neutral colors without a lot of patterns or logos. The focus for parent images is your connection with your new baby without distractions.

I absolutely LOVE watching first-time parents with their brand new babies! For some of my clients, their baby is the first baby they have ever held and they’re still getting the hang of moving them around. Most of my first-time parent clients can be a little bit worried or timid because they still aren’t used to handling their baby while standing up and moving around. Think about it, when you’re at home with your new baby, most of the care you are giving your baby is while seated or with them on the changing table. However, even if you don’t have much hands-on baby experience, there is NO need to be nervous in my studio with me. The TOP priority is your baby’s safety and the comfort of everyone, so we will adapt as needed and I will verbally walk you through the entire session along with demonstrations if needed. There’s more than one way to hold a baby – so if you don’t feel secure or confident holding your baby one way, we’ll switch it up to a way that you are! 

I’ll also make sure to tuck back stray hairs, adjust clothing, reposition hands as needed so YOUR focus can behold and admire your new baby while following my gentle direction. The family portion is typically the “easiest” part of our time together – because all you have to do is admire this amazing little human that you’ve welcomed into your family. Another major bonus of commissioning me for your baby’s first family portraits: I’ll make sure you don’t give yourself a self-inflicted double chin while looking at your little one.

I start my sessions with parent poses for a few reasons:

• My Atlanta area studio is kept at around 80 degrees to keep baby warm and comfortable.
• Parents can can relax and enjoy the rest of the session after their portion of the posing is finished. Some parents even enjoy some much needed naptime of their own.

We moved on to the baby posing and Miss Corley did not disappoint. Mom chose cream, tan and pink for the session colors. The session is all pre-planned and prepped. All of the color choices, props, hats and poses are staged and ready when my clients arrive for their newborn session. I send a newborn questionnaire to parents so that parents can have a personalized session just for them.
