Family Photographer in Cumming
I love that there are so many location options for being a family photographer in Cumming, GA. When mom contacted me about their family session we had decided on Sims Lake Park even though it’s in Suwanee. There are some beautiful trails to explore, a pretty 7-acre lake surrounded by beautiful landscape. Kids just love to investigate and wander around this park and these kids were no exception. Did I mention they were boy/girl twin 2 years old’s? Talk about being nonstop and very inquisitive. They were such a sweet family.

I love to help parents decide on what to wear for their sessions. It’s often a HUGE stress factor when having pictures taken and, to be honest it can really make or break a successful session. Remember, the days of all white, all black, all khaki, or all jeans is a thing of the past. Family picture time is a great time to embrace your individuality, your favorite looks, bold colors, prints and layers. These are my top suggestions for families when thinking about their clothing choices:
- Purchase clothes to fit. And fit well. You’ll be purchasing outfits specifically for pictures, most likely, so choose something that fits perfectly.
- Matching is out. Coordinating is in. And anything goes nowadays! I usually choose two to three main colors of wardrobe, and maybe one accent pop of color. Expression is important. I want to see your personality through your wardrobe.
- Wear what you feel good in! If you aren’t comfortable in what you’ve chosen for pictures, it will show. If you can’t find a dress you feel good in, but you rock a good pair of skinny jeans, do that.
