The best newborn lips award goes to this little girl right here.

I mean, come on with those perfect little newborn lips.  This little nugget was a newborn photographers dream, a newborn photographers trifecta dream 🙂

1. Perfect skin…check
2. A thick head of hair…check
3. Pouty lips…check

When I saw her I just knew that this session was going to be good and it was.  She was a great little sleeper and no accidents that I can remember.  A great session starts way before the baby arrives though.  I put a lot of thought into which colors, props, headbands, wraps (I could really go on and on here).  By the way, this gorgeous outfit is from Baby in Vogue.  Go visit her site here or Facebook page here, seriously go!  She has AMAZING clothing items for newborns, babies + maternity Mommas.  This is of course after I get preferences and input from the parents.  I send a questionnaire right after the session retainer is paid.  This questionnaire gives me a jumping-off point to plan the session.   It is their session of course!  If a parent requests greys and blues for their color scheme, I’m certainly not going to pull out my green and yellows :).  Parent preparation is also key.  I also send a Parent Preparation Packet which covers what they should do before the session and during the session.  I want the parents to relax and enjoy their newborn session.

It’s very important to me that clients love their newborn images and products.  I hope that this Mama LOVED her images!

Since I am very indecisive sometimes and can’t decide whether I like a color or B+W version of an image, clients tend to get both.  Win win for both of us!
